Thirty-one people, four generations, every link proved before it goes near the paper.
This is the one that ends up framed. I build your direct line back to your great-great-grandparents out of the records themselves — civil registers, parish books, censuses, valuation rolls — and no name goes on that sheet because it merely looked likely.
Where two records contradict each other, I work out which one is telling the truth, and show you why. Where the trail genuinely stops, I tell you exactly where it stopped and what would move it — which is more than most researchers will ever put in writing. An honest gap is worth more than a confident guess, because you can do something with a gap.
The work is fixed at six hours. That is unusual in this trade, and it is the grading that makes it possible: I don't have to dig until I'm certain about everything, because I can hand you the sheet and tell you precisely how certain I am about each part of it. You get a fixed price, and you get the truth about what it bought.

- A six-page report behind it — the verdict and the counts, then every link taken one at a time: what was checked, what it showed, what it didn't.
- A page of the questions I couldn't settle, named specifically, with what would settle them.
- Three doors already located for whatever you do next.
- Print-ready, and posted if you'd rather have the sheet in your hands than on your screen.
What I need from you. Your own name and date of birth, both parents, and one grandparent with a place. Less than that and there is no thread to pull.

How the grading works
Every claim carries one of four marks — PROVED, LIKELY, FAMILY SAYS, OPEN — so you are never told a guess is a fact. It is also what makes a fixed price honest: I don't have to dig until certain about everything, because I can hand you the work and tell you exactly how certain I am about each part of it.
